Present and not declared: One (1) feather. Loose in the straw of the lower case. Barbs intact. No mineral content. Not consistent with material recovered from the excavation, with the packing straw, or with any bird known to the receiving clerk.

Disposition: Retained. Entered separately. Not catalogued against this consignment.

Remarks of the Registrar: The shipper has been written to. Until he replies, this office declines to put the obvious conclusion in writing.
